Do you troubleshoot small engines in your sleep? Can you explain a repair by phone, face-to-face, or over email without breaking a sweat? If you like organized bays, smart diagnostics, and satisfied customers, this role is for you.

Compensation

Pay Range: $21.50 - $23.50 + Monthly Bonus

What you will tackle

  • Diagnose and repair 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines and basic automotive components.
  • Service commercial cleaning and restoration equipment: truck-mounted carpet cleaning units, portable carpet extractors, hard-surface floor machines, duct cleaning tools, deodorizing systems, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, and HEPA vacuums.
  • Leverage meters, test equipment, troubleshooting guides, and OEM repair manuals to pinpoint issues fast.
  • Open service orders at intake, build accurate estimates/bids, and present them clearly to customers.
  • Schedule repairs, manage appointments in scheduling software, and keep customers updated.
  • Order parts, coordinate with vendors, and align timelines with other techs and store staff.
  • Meet or exceed departmental quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain shop tools, follow safe work practices, and keep your workspace clean and organized.
  • Take direction from supervisors and jump in to assist teammates when needed.

Must-haves and nice-to-haves

  • Experience: 2+ years preferred in commercial cleaning/restoration gear, small engines, pressure washers, or vehicle repair/maintenance.
  • License: Valid driver license with a clean MVR (no DUIs or Careless/Reckless driving in the last 3 years).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Tools: Bring your own basic mechanic’s tool set.
  • Skills: High mechanical aptitude, detail focus, strong diagnostics and problem-solving, and basic computer literacy.
  • Safety: Always use PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
  • Stamina: Lift 50+ lbs routinely; manage time to deliver quality work on schedule.
  • Professionalism: Clean, customer-facing communication in person, by phone, and via email.
  • Availability: Occasional overtime required.
  • Bonus: Bilingual English/Spanish.
