Clinical Oncology Pharmacist opportunity in central Tennessee is calling—bring expertise, elevate outcomes, and energize a thriving cancer program that’s redefining hospital pharmacy excellence .
The Clinical Oncology Pharmacist will join a mission-driven, patient-first culture known for measurable outcomes, strong clinical collaboration, and a reputation for clinical excellence and safety that oncology pharmacists can be proud to champion; with high patient experience scores, low infection rates, robust antimicrobial stewardship, modern data and analytics, and innovation-forward leadership piloting hospital-at-home, telehealth, hybrid clinics, and value-based care, this Oncology Pharmacist role offers high-acuity exposure to complex cancer cases, streamlined EHR workflows, AI-assisted decision support, and a Magnet-style workplace culture that invests in wellbeing, professional growth, and career mobility.
Within the Oncology Pharmacy service, the Clinical Oncology Pharmacist will support an integrated cancer continuum anchored by a premier 269-bed regional referral center serving the Upper Cumberland, offering top-tier specialized care—including advanced robotics and orthopedic surgery—without the need for city tax dollars; the oncology pharmacist will contribute to high-quality, comprehensive healthcare closer to home that often rivals larger urban institutions, as medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and Advanced Practice Provider nurses offer medical oncology, radiation oncology and infusion services and other care to cancer patients through a modern pharmacy operation that coordinates sterile compounding, chemotherapy and immunotherapy verification, oral oncolytic management, and evidence-based protocols aligned to national guidelines.
Reporting to a Clinical Pharmacy Manager and collaborating closely with the Director of Pharmacy and the cancer service line leadership, the Clinical Oncology Pharmacist will enjoy strong mentorship, clear clinical practice support, and friendly nurses alongside a diverse interdisciplinary team of physicians, APPs, infusion RNs, pharmacy technicians, case management, social work, and nutrition; this Oncology Pharmacist will round with oncology providers, validate and optimize chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy regimens, oversee USP <797>/<800> compliance, participate in tumor boards, counsel patients and caregivers on oral oncolytics and supportive care, engage in antimicrobial stewardship and pain/palliative coordination, contribute to order set development and clinical decision support, precept learners through academic partnerships, and help advance research, clinical trials access, and quality initiatives that elevate outcomes across the cancer program.
Set in central Tennessee, the Clinical Oncology Pharmacist will find a lifestyle that blends outdoor adventure with cultural vibrancy: rolling Cumberland Plateau trails, waterfalls, lakes, and state parks for hiking, climbing, mountain biking, paddling, and fishing; a lively music and arts scene with concerts, festivals, and community events; four-season weather with abundant sunshine; an affordable cost of living, diverse housing options from historic neighborhoods to new builds on acreage, and a strong job market with expanding industries and entrepreneurship support; family-friendly schools, nearby higher education, plentiful parks and green space, and excellent healthcare access; quick drives to major entertainment and sports venues, efficient regional commute times, good safety and community services, walkable town centers, bike-friendly routes, pet-friendly amenities, and clean air; a welcoming, inclusive social climate, business-friendly regulations, accessible regional airports and travel connectivity, reliable digital infrastructure, ongoing development, and a balance of privacy with small-city convenience—ideal for an Oncology Pharmacist seeking both career acceleration and quality of life.
Offering competitive compensation with transparent pathways for advancement, the Clinical Oncology Pharmacist can expect a full suite of health and retirement benefits, paid time off, tuition assistance and CEU support, certification incentives (including BCOP), conference funding, wellness resources, differentials, and recognition programs; to explore this Oncology Pharmacist career further, connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter today for a confidential conversation and take the next bold step in oncology pharmacy excellence .
