Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the Department of Psychiatry. The ideal candidate will have a track record of clinical accomplishments in the treatment of patients with serious mental illness.  In this role the NP will provide services including but not limited to the following:

  • Medication management with adult, adolescent, and child patients of the MHRH MHOTRS program, on-site, both in person and via telehealth
  • Medication management services via telehealth to adult patients of the Ally Care Center Satellite MHOTRS program
  • Medication Reconciliation for patients at intake, or upon their return from a higher level of care
  • Administration of LAI medications
  • Diagnostic evaluations
  • Interventional Psychiatry services (e.g. Spravato) as they are developed at MHRH (future state)
  • Evaluation and management of patients presenting in crisis
  • Provide routine medical monitoring services (e.g. weight, blood pressure) to patients as indicated

In addition to providing clinical services, the NP will:

  • Attend and contribute to all required meetings including High Risk and Staff meetings
  • Maintain electronic medical records in a timely manner and in accordance with all regulatory and policy requirements
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation
  • Coordinate with 3 rd -party providers and patients’ collateral as indicated

  • Candidates must be Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and possess, or be able to obtain, an applicable New York State License.
  • Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a psychiatric provider but highly motivated new graduates will be considered.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Candidates must have BLS and ACLS
