We’re a series B startup, and have raised $65 million from Emergence Capital, Y Combinator, and the founders of PayPal and Twilio. We have grown to a 60+ person team, and we serve customers like Better.com, by delivering the most friendly, helpful, and human-like AI phone agents in the world.
We’re entering the next phase of growth and need someone to take full ownership of how we build the team behind it. This role exists to design, scale, and execute recruiting from first principles — partnering directly with founders to turn ambitious hiring goals into a repeatable, high-signal hiring engine.
This isn’t a “fill roles as they come” position. You’ll help define who we hire, how we hire, and how we show up to the talent market — laying the foundation for the company’s long-term success.
This is a founding role with real impact, real ownership, and real expectations.
Own hiring end-to-end.
Source, engage, interview, and close exceptional engineers, operators, and product leaders — with quality and speed.
Partner directly with founders.
Translate company goals into hiring plans, headcount forecasts, and clear role definitions.
Build the recruiting engine.
Design and iterate on sourcing strategies, funnels, metrics, interview loops, and candidate experience.
Be the face of the company to talent.
Tell the story authentically, represent the culture with integrity, and build trust with top-tier candidates.
Embed in the talent ecosystem.
Develop strong relationships across technical, startup, and founder communities.
Create scalable foundations.
Document best practices, interview rubrics, and onboarding processes as the team grows.
2–8 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in an early-stage or high-growth startup environment.
Proven ability to recruit technical talent, especially engineers, and earn trust with highly technical candidates.
Experience hiring across both technical and operational roles.
A relentless sourcer — you know how to hunt, not just manage inbound.
High ownership mentality and comfort operating in ambiguity.
Strong communication and closing skills; able to clearly and compellingly represent the company.
Demonstrated ambition and hunger for growth — you want to level up quickly.
