This position is limited term (12 months). It may become permanent, be extended up to 24 months, or be canceled at any time.

Effective July 1, 2025, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3-percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours per month of PLP 2025 leave credits. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement does not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.

Under the general direction of the Office of Tax Appeals Director and operational direction of the Deputy Director, Administration, the Supervisor I functions as the Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (EEO Officer) and is responsible for monitoring the Office's EEO Program. The incumbent will recommend, implement, and enforce policies and procedures for the full scope of EEO activities to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and civil service laws, regulations and rules. The incumbent conducts investigations of discrimination and harassment complaints and works collaboratively with the Deputy Director, Administration on constructive invention strategies and civil rights programs.

The written response should be typed and no more than one (1) page in total length, double spaced, and 12-point font. Please answer the SOQs below:

    1. Explain your experience conducting workplace investigations related to discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Describe your approach to intake, evidence gathering, interviewing, documentation, and reaching findings. Include an example that demonstrates your ability to manage sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
