Job Description

: Dollar Bank is hiring for a Compliance Specialist. This entry level position plays a key role in supporting the Bank's second line of defense through the execution of quality control reviews and other core compliance oversight activities. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong eye for detail, an interest in regulatory frameworks, and a desire to grow their skills in risk management and compliance analysis. In this role, you will collaborate with business line staff to evaluate processes, test for regulatory adherence, and identify opportunities for improvement. This is a hybrid position. Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in a financial institution as a paralegal, auditor, risk/compliance specialist or in an operations role.
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to follow procedures with accuracy and consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability or interest in reviewing data, documentation, or workflows for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have experience using Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
  • College degree.
  • Ability to learn and master tasks and terms quickly, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to learn to utilize tools, techniques, processes, and technology for extracting and gathering data for quality control testing and reporting.
  • Comfort learning new systems and workflows and the ability to adapt to evolving regulatory and operational priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and an interest in working alongside business units to promote risk-aware decision-making.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance concepts and consumer protection requirements.
  • Experience supporting quality control, monitoring, or testing functions in a second line of defense or compliance capacity.
Principal Activities and Duties:
  • Develop, implement, and update compliance quality control processes, including, but not limited to performing compliance process control narrative walkthroughs; assigning roles and responsibilities to business and operational units to ensure compliance; developing and executing testing processes with documented support; and compiling and organizing test findings to be reported to the appropriate business units and/or managerial committees.
  • Assist operational departments with responses to compliance audits and examinations.
  • Report to the Compliance Committee on periodic quality control testing and reviews as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • Perform research pertaining to compliance issues.
  • Assist in drafting and implementing quality control procedures for compliance matters.
  • Assist in other tasks as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.
  • All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank's risk management program. Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions.
