About Us:

Intrado is dedicated to saving lives and protecting communities, helping them prepare for, respond to, and recover from critical events. Our cutting-edge company strives to become the most trusted, data-centric emergency services partner by uniting fragmented communications into actionable intelligence for first responders. At Intrado, all of our work truly matters.

Responsibilities:

Instructional Designer (Entry Level / Early Career)

Position overview

The Instructional Designer supports the development and maintenance of learning materials that help internal teams and customers effectively understand and use our products, tools, and processes. This is an early‑career, development‑focused role centered on collaborating closely with subject matter experts and internal partners to gather information, translate content into learner‑ready materials, and update existing learning assets.

This role has very limited facilitation responsibilities and is primarily focused on content development, documentation, and instructional support under the guidance of senior instructional designers and learning leaders.

What you will do

Instructional content development

  • Develop and update learning materials such as eLearning modules, slide decks, job aids, quick reference guides, and facilitator materials using provided standards and templates.
  • Translate information gathered from subject matter experts into clear, structured, learner‑friendly content.
  • Apply foundational instructional design principles and guidance when building or updating learning assets.
  • Maintain and revise existing training content to reflect product updates, process changes, or feedback.

Information gathering and collaboration

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, product teams, and internal stakeholders to gather content, clarify requirements, and document workflows or system functionality.
  • Participate in structured intake discussions and working sessions to capture learning needs and source materials.
  • Incorporate feedback from peers and stakeholders and make revisions to learning content accordingly.
  • Partner with senior instructional designers to ensure content aligns with learning objectives and design standards.

Training delivery support (limited facilitation)

  • Provide logistical and content support for virtual or in‑person training sessions as needed.
  • Occasionally deliver small portions of training, demos, or walk‑throughs with preparation and guidance.
  • This role is not expected to independently facilitate full training sessions, however this role can grow into this responsibility in the future.

Evaluation and learning operations support

  • Assist with collecting learner feedback, completion data, and basic assessment results.
  • Support updates to learning content based on evaluation results and guidance from senior team members.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain learning materials in the LMS or learning platforms.
  • Follow established documentation, version control, and content management processes.

What you will bring (required qualifications)

  • 0–2 years of experience in instructional design, training development, learning support, or a related field (internships, practicums, or academic projects count).
  • Foundational understanding of instructional design and adult learning concepts.
  • Experience creating learning materials such as presentations, job aids, documentation, and eLearning content.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into clear learning materials.
  • Comfort collaborating closely with subject matter experts to gather and clarify information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standards, templates, and processes.
  • Openness to feedback and iterative development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Sciences, Communications, Graphic Design or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Nice to have

  • Exposure to instructional design models such as ADDIE or SAM.
  • Familiarity with any eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Captivate, or similar).
  • Experience documenting technical processes, systems, or workflows.
  • Familiarity with virtual learning platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Interest in growing into a mid‑level instructional design role over time.
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset but not required.
