We have a client seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support multi-million-dollar projects in the federal government construction sector. This role involves assisting with project coordination, subcontractor management, and quality control to ensure efficient delivery of infrastructure and facilities. It provides opportunities for professional development through hands-on involvement in high-profile government contracts and mentorship from senior staff.

  • Anticipated salary: $85,000 - $115,000
  • Benefits include: Health Insurance, Employer Matching 401K, Paid Vacation/Sick Leave/Holidays
  • Anticipated travel: Monthly, 2-3 days
  • Office-based in Tallahassee, FL

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety plans and coordination with owners/engineers/architects
  • Support subcontractor prequalification, bid analysis, and contract preparation
  • Help create logistics/phasing plans and coordinate subcontractors
  • Aid in project startup, permits, and mobilization
  • Contribute to schedule updates (Primavera P6 preferred), track RFIs/RFPs/Change Orders
  • Assist with quality control, submittals, and material deliveries
  • Review reports, invoices, and payments
  • Support close-out procedures and receive mentorship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering (civil/structural), or related; Building Construction preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' construction experience
  • Experience assisting with project aspects (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical)
  • Understanding of financial accounting systems
  • Strong communication, writing, conflict resolution, organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel/relocate
